EQTs, excitement and more!

Adidas will be dropping the EQTs today in varied silhouettes and I’m pretty sure these models will be a hit this early into 2017. Here’s a look at the few releasing today that I would love to cop.

  • Adidas Originals EQT Support 93/17

  • Adidas Originals EQT Support ADV Primeknit

You can never go wrong with either BOOSTs or Primeknit or even better, with both fitted on your pair of kicks. In the EQT Support 93/17, we’re seeing a ton of boosts here on these shoes (I’m thinking a lot more than the UltraBOOSTs) with the carved Three Stripes on the side too and I’m curious just how much more comfortable this could feel on my feet as compared to the UltraBOOSTs.

But either way, these revamped EQTs will be massive along with the much headlined “Turbo Red” colour to go with most of the EQT releases.

With so much releases to look forward to, let’s take a look at some of the latest silhouettes that dropped early into the year and some that’s coming soon!

January releases that kickstarted 2017

  • adizero Prime Boost

Reformed, Uncaged and Boosted. The adiZero Prime Boost arrived to much positive vibes, It will be exciting to see Adidas rolling out another revamp in February, this time featuring the all new Pure Boosts.

  • adidas Originals X White Mountaineering NMD Trail

adidas Originals and White Mountaineering also returned with a collab in January, dropping their iteration of the NMD Trail Primeknits silhoutte. The two released colourways contrast each other with one, bold and eye-catching with an almost classic tinge to it while the other is a lot more subtle with less colour, sporting the easiest combination of black and white into the fold. As much as a shoe is fantastic, the colourways play a huge part in influencing the cop. The two brands’ collabs are always very much anticipated and this one especially, excellently pairs functionality with balanced colourways that appeals to many if not most.

  • adidas UltraBOOST 3.0

The UtraBOOST 3.0 releases spilled into the new year with the Trace Cargo LTD (Call it Military Green/Olive if you want to) colourway the hottest to be added to the line up, having already released the triple white, core black and navy counterparts towards the end of 2016.

Excitement and more!

With more to come, the classics are being brought back to the NOW (or present, whichever you prefer) by adidas in the form of the iniki runner due to release in march, being the latest of a line of new silhouettes to be fitted with the new boost technology while retaining it’s beauty of yesteryears. Joining the iniki runner with the retro gum outsole are the NMD R1 PKs and CitySock PKs in the new “Gum Pack” which will be released earlier sometime in February.

2017 is already shaping up to be a year of nostalgia and reform. Recognizing the hype in BOOST technology, adidas will surely use it to their advantage in releasing past silhouettes fitted with them.

NikeLab Sock Dart Mid X Stone Island

While adidas have garnered all the talk, Nike must’ve been on overdrive to keep up with the competition. While reformed, the Nike sock dart mid isn’t exactly a game changer. The unique, yet desirable silhouette that sets itself apart from the conventional has been fitted with a slightly new look with Nike releasing the ‘NikeLab Sock Dart Mid X Stone Island’.

But it certainly signals a sign of intent with the collaboration, bringing forth a partnership between two highly successful brands and incorporating Stone Island’s expertise in textile and fabric to the fore. It’s brought the Sock Dart to a higher level of functionality. For a lay down on the incredible technical aspect and reinvention of the silhouette, Click here

Also exciting would see the long popular Flyknit Racers drop a new blend of darker and richer University Red with much of it’s recent colourway releases featuring similar tones. The Flyknit Racers have remained static in design, but no one’s banging for a massive change with it’s legacy already proving to be untouchable. Still, the recent colourways have kept these silhouettes fresh and still much coveted among sneakerheads.

Will 2017 be an even better year for sneakers? (Yes please)

Only time will tell. But we haven’t even come to the end of the first month! Exciting things should lie ahead! (And more sneaker talk right here on TheStandOutFeed)
